How Fasting Can Keep You Looking Younger | Aging Skin

Posted in Aging Skin on March 10th, 2010 by Amanda – Be the first to comment

So, I hear aging could be delayed by eating less…

Well, my friend, to a degree you heard correctly.

Indeed, there might be such a connection between adding years to our lives and reducing the amount of food that we eat, especially when the foods are the RIGHT foods that we are supposed to eat to begin with.

You see, when one reduces excessive eating as, in a fast or eating mono-meals of seasonal fruits at the right times of the day, it allows for less wear and tear on the internal and visceral organs.

In addition, this allows for a proper elimination of poisons and harmful waste products that could perhaps be all the more responsible for aging in the first place.

But, some points that must be mentioned on striving for a prolonged existence and eating lesser calories programs are that:

1. A wise man avoids all extremes, so don’t become overly obsessive about expanding your life’s span by reducing caloric intake.

2. Even if the calories are lowered for the sake of adding a few years, make sure the diet consumed is a healthy and sensibly balanced choice. To this effect, allow me to introduce you to the mucus-less diet as endorsed in the drug-free fraternity. This diet consists mainly Raw Fruits, Fruit, Leafy and Root Vegetables and Some Less Harmful Whole Grains all the while being sure to adhere to simple rules such as proper food combining and eating at the right times.

3. Lastly-and as a sort of enhancer for point 2-You have got to remember to exercise. For this, I could say the equipments you need may be staring you right in the mirror, so you may not need those expensive gym memberships, or cumbersome exercise gear that you may never use. What do I suggest? Yoga, Calisthenics (Aerobic and Anaerobic components), The Royal court exercises and so on. Hey, have you heard of burpees or do you remember them from PE class? Well, look them up; quite simply…they kick butt for exercise purposes.

In conclusion, as long as you remember to take it one-day-at-a-time and of course keep health as the number one goal to be sought after her, linking efforts of attaining prolonged existence and eating lesser calories of the proper meals can be useful…when done right..

Retinol – A Potent Anti-Aging Tonic For Your Skin | Aging Skin

Posted in Aging Skin on March 10th, 2010 by Amanda – Be the first to comment

Aging.. or perhaps looking aged is one of the worst fears women have! Appearance of aging signs like wrinkles and fine lines on the skin is a major cause of worry. Aging is a natural process and so is the development of wrinkles. However, with proper skin care, you can seek to delay and even reverse the aging signs.

Retinol is a great anti-aging ingredient that makes the skin look healthier and more youthful. In addition, it provide a range of other skin care benefits as well:

Here are some…

Skin Rejuvenation

Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A that accelerates the collagen production within the skin cells. Collagen is a natural component of the dermis layer of the skin that keeps it firm and supple. Increased production of collagen prevents wrinkles and fine lines from appearing on the skin and makes it look fresh and rejuvenated.

Healthier Appearance

Retinol makes the skin look firmer and healthier. It also helps to reduce discoloration, fine lines, wrinkles and makes the skin texture smooth and soft. In addition, it enhances the skin tone and makes the skin appear more radiant and younger-looking.

Effective Exfoliation

Retinol also has excellent exfoliating properties and stimulates cell turnover. It removes the layer of dead skin cells accumulated on the surface and helps healthier cells to come through to the top. This makes the complexion looks brighter and also helps active ingredients of other skin care products to penetrate deep into the skin.

Acne Care

Apart from being an efficient anti-aging ingredient, Retinol also helps to treat acne. Because of its excellent exfoliating properties, it helps remove dead skin cells from the surface which in turn prevent skin cells from getting clogged and accumulating acne-causing bacteria. This is how Retinol helps to prevent acne.

Less Irritating than Retinoids

Retinoids are also vitamin A derivatives that are used in anti aging skin care products. However, they are only available by prescription by dermatologists. They are more powerful that regular over-the-counter anti-aging treatments, they tend to be more irritating as well and might have side effects like skin redness and flakiness. Retinols on the other hand are gentler. This is because it gradually converts to retinoic acid, which is the active ingredient in prescription treatments. They are idea for people with sensitive skin.

Here are some Retinol based skin care products that you can choose from:

Skin Care Heaven Retinol Plus Smoothing Serum

It is great anti-aging product that helps to firm the skin while enriching the skin with antioxidants. This product feels like you are apply silk to your skin. It gives your skin radiant, youthful glow. This product also helps to reduce the size of pores

iS Clinical Firming Complex

A great formulation by Innovative Skincare, this product contains natural fruit acids, antioxidants, and bio-nutrients to increase skin firmness to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. At the same time, it encourages skin regeneration at the cellular level and controls acne.

iS Clinical Poly-Vitamin Serum

It regenerates, hydrates and provides essential vitamins, bionutrients and antioxidants to improve many unwanted skin problems. It increases the micro-circulation of the skin to fight free radicals and provide nutrients to compromised skin. How To Know If Anti-Aging Specialists Are Of Any Use | Aging Skin

Posted in Aging Skin on March 9th, 2010 by Amanda – Be the first to comment

The accepted definition of ‘growing old’ is the physical and mental decline which occurs after reaching sexual maturity.

This physiological deterioration progressively progresses into a weakened immune system which renders one more vulnerable to disease, frailty, a reduced mental function and well…death.

Makes you cringe eh?

Well, it is part of the process of living, and though I’ve not been to the other side (and am not in any rush to do so any time soon), most religious and psychology therapists do state that going to Great Beyond after our time here on earth is not such a painful experience.

But enough of that…we are trying to see about delaying aging right?

Right.

Well, In this day and age when a fascination with retaining our youth is the in-thing, it really is not news that the search for information on using or hiring the services of an anti-aging specialist is very common both off and on the net.

Defined, an anti-aging specialist is one whose sole purpose is to provide treatment and give information on the latest techniques and resources for longevity and maintaining the highest quality of optimum health.

Now, to ensure that just the best ones are available to the public, it’s been made public that the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine now gives credentials to any and every anti-aging specialist by qualifying the physicians based on their standards and criteria.

So now that you have an idea of how to find and what exactly makes a named anti-aging specialist what they attest to be, it must be considered though: as expensive as these specialized doctors must be, will such an investment into their services be worth the expense?

Even so-called anti-aging specialists will attest to the fact that nothing comes closer to achieving anti-aging effects in our body as exercise and a proper diet.

This is where the secret is.

Other factors that need to be added even to whatever it is that you may learn from an anti-aging specialist are that the following come in as very beneficial for achieving lasting anti-aging solutions.

These include:

-Detoxification

-Getting enough rest

-Laughter

-Positive Thinking.

-Keeping company with friends and family (that raise your spirits)

-Remembering to just take things easy.

Trying to include the points above in your path to reversing the aging process definitely can’t hurt and very well may help immensely.

To Health

What's The Best Way Of Getting Rid Of Wrinkles Around Your Eyes? – Checkout These 5 Ingredients! | Aging Skin

Posted in Aging Skin on March 9th, 2010 by Amanda – Be the first to comment

I don’t know about you, but to my way of thinking the best way of getting rid of wrinkles around your eyes is to attack the 3 main reasons why you get them in the first place.

The 3 reasons are natural aging, damage from the suns rays and loss of collagen and elastin in your dermis.

You can’t do a great deal about the first one. However you can counteract the other aging skin issues using ingredients that have been scientifically proven both in clinical trials and by real uses that can deliver positive results.

The biggest benefit you get using a top natural anti-aging cream as your preferred skincare option is because you are positively improving and investing in your complexion every day, further reducing the risk of facial tissue damage.

A brief description of 5 great ingredients that can help improve the skin around your eyes:

1. CynergyTK™ with functional keratin™

This ingredient is a breakthrough in wrinkle reduction technology — its molecules are minute enough to reach deep down into the main living cell area of your skin “your dermis”.

Once there the functional keratin stimulates your body to produce more collagen and elastin cells. Increasing these protein numbers results in a thickening and strengthening of the tissues around your eyes reducing the amount of wrinkling.

2. Nanobelle Coenzyme Q10

This form of coenzyme Q10 accomplishes the same task as functional keratin™ but not quite to the same extent. However it’s also extremely effective at destroying free radicals caused by oxidation, which results in a dramatic anti-wrinkle effect.

3. Natural vitamin E

An antioxidant required for protection against the oxidation of fatty acids and cholesterol, it helps prevent oxidative stress damage to cell membranes and prevents vein degeneration.

Vitamin E helps your circulation, tissue repair and skin health. It helps stop fine lines and wrinkles appearing, and is useful in preventing the appearance of age spots.

4. Homeo Age™

A Canadian algae extract with anti-aging properties helpful for delicate skin around your eyes. It has been shown to reduce wrinkles around the eyes whilst stimulating cellular growth at a molecular level to rejuvenate delicate tissues cells.

5. Eyeliss™

This ingredient specifically targets 3 eye tissue conditions by reducing capillary fragility, improving drainage and reducing irritation and skin slackening, whilst at the same time increasing skin firmness and elasticity.

If you’re really interested in getting rid of wrinkles around your eyes and keeping your complexion looking radiant and youthful, you should seriously take a closer look at the power of these ingredients.

Comprehensive Study About Facial Restructuring With Botox ….read On | Aging Skin

Facial Restructuring With Botulinum

The human face undergoes changes due to daily wear and tear, aging, environmental damage. Signs of aging appear in the form of lines and wrinkles, deepening folds, sagging jaw-line, volume loss leading to the appearance of a fatigued and grumpy look.

The numerous anti-aging creams and lotions available fail to repair the skin adequately.

Barring cosmetic surgery, very few modalities help to shape up the face. Botulinum toxin and fillers remain the most sought after and the safest means to achieve this.

Botulinum toxin or Botox (BTX) , a protein which relaxes the muscles, has been in use for years to reduce lines and wrinkles on the upper face, giving a rested appearance to the visage. This caused incongruency between the smooth upper face and the sagging lower face.

Now BTX has been increasingly used to perk up the sagging lower face by enabling a mini jaw-lift.

Use of small amounts of BTX along the jaw and on the neck bands helps to reduce the downward pull of the platysma muscle thereby decreasing the sagging of the jawline. This is called as the Nefertiti Lift after the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti who was famed for her beauty. This non-surgical mini-lift helps give a sharper well-defined jaw.

Similarly BTX helps to lift up the drooping corners of the mouth and also raise the eyebrows (brow-lift). Injecting small amounts of BTX on the cheeks helps to reduce open pores, stretches the skin, reduces oiliness and gives a glow on the skin.

All these effects can last for 4-6 mths and can be repeated safely.

Thus BTX used judiciously by an expert hand can help push back surgery and give a youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

Tips For Healthy Aging | Aging Skin

Posted in Aging Skin on March 8th, 2010 by Amanda – Be the first to comment

Every second of every minute is precious. Every hour of every day will only happen once. Time is ticking, and whether we like it or not, aging is inevitable. So if this is true, why are so many of us treating our bodies poorly? Why do we take better care of our cars than ourselves? When was the last time you visited your doctor for a health screen?

According to the American Medical Association, the average American is living longer. Statistics show that as environmental factors are changing around us, our lifespan increases. Studies show that more and more Americans are turning to alternative care to combat and prevent diseases of the body. People are now using preventative methods such as Chiropractic and Acupuncture to avert pathology.

As a physician who practice alternative medicine, there are many questions I am confronted with. One of the most vital questions I encounter at our Chicago chiropractic clinic is what fruits are the best to eat? A recent study in the British Medical Journal of 11,000 subjects for 17 years reported that fruit was the only food associated with a decrease in mortality. Those who ate fruit regularly had a “24-percent reduction in deaths from heart disease, a 32-percent reduction in deaths from strokes, and a 21-percent reduction in deaths from all causes.

The fruits highest in glutathione, a master antioxidant associated with longevity are avocados, watermelons, grapefruit, strawberries, oranges and cantaloupes. These fruits should not be cooked, but rather raw or frozen.

According to nutritional expert Jean Carper, high levels of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant, predict both good health and a longer life. The opposite is true for people with low levels of glutathione.

For the most part, fresh and frozen fruits are high in this “master antioxidant,” as are carrots, tomatoes and raw tomato juice, spinach, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli.

Consider adding soy beans to your diets as well. In one study soy protein extended the life span of animals by 13 percent. Other studies show that it appears to lower LDL, the bad cholesterol, and triglyceride levels by at least 10 percent. But soy sauce or soybean oil won’t do it. You must eat the protein. Best sources: soy milk, tofu, soy nuts, miso, tempeh. Also, you must eat soy protein every day because the beneficial chemicals, such as genistein and diadzein, remain in the body only 24 to 36 hours at most.

We know that we just gave you a lot of information to think about. But take a list of these items with you the next time you go to the grocery store. These fruits and vegetables are ones that we usually pass bye. Try adding avocado to your next salad, or turkey sandwich. Try raw carrots, broccoli and cauliflower in a light ranch dip. Get the antioxidants you need by having fun with your food.
